![]() But, to further backup the idea of having sign posts, these messages only appear once. There are definitely functions shortly after the first enemy that are more unique the game that need to be explained. A little child who can't read yet would even be able to figure these things out by playing the game a little. I think the less interruptions and the less the game would stop a player from experimenting to figure out how to play, the better. So if someone is actually unable to figure these things out, they can then look at what the sign says, but it will not stop them to make sure they read it. Like a posted sign near the area that tells the information when you press Up near it. One thing I might suggest though: Ive seen games do this non-interactive type popup which is pretty nice. It does not even allow the player to figure things out. It just seems like it needs a better way of showing the player what to do instead of assuming they cannot even figure out the most basic universal functions of a platformer. But it still stops us to tell us the obvious as we're on our way to kill the rat. ![]() We already know we can slash with the blade by pressing X so its going to do damage to an enemy. It even displays the button to press to use it, but just before we pick it up, yet another popup interrupts telling us the same thing again. But the game interrupts yet again before we can even try. Then I see a wall too high so obviously we need to try double jumps or wall climbing, etc. ![]() As im headed to the hill to jump, gameplay is interrupted to tell me to press A to jump. People who play games are naturally going to know you press A (or one of the buttons) to jump. Just pointing out how it could use some improving. Trying to give constructive criticism here. Im playing for the first time and right away feel slightly annoyed by the popups. This is just some general feedback/suggestions about the introduction: ![]()
